If it's been a while since you had any work done to your computer, it might be time. There are a few mechanical things in every computer. This consists mostly of cooling fans and hard drives. Hard drives should be replaced at an interval of 5 years at the most. This is the maximum time you should rely on a hard drive to continue to operate. Cooling fans can last more or less time, depending on environmental conditions. If your computer is in a dusty environment the cooling fans should be replace every other year, if not every year. If you've noticed any strange sounds coming from your computer it's probably the bearings in a cooling fan giving out, and it should be replaced.
